I was looking for a mid-layer jacket after my first cold weather multi-day tour, the other options in market were primarily fleece or bomber style however when I came across Viaterra Boreal jacket it instantly caught my attention due to it's different styling and features. Since purchasing it I have used the jacket on a number of multi-day tours and it has performed flawlessly so far, still lookiing like new after wash. The jacket is multi-layer yet sleek enough to fit comfortably as a mid-layer under different riding jackets. The looks are stylish enough with not so flashy branding that I have been using it as a standalone jacket as well when I don't expect very heavy cold. There is some degree of water repulsion so a light drizzle is not of bother. The jacket was liked so much that my pillion has also bought same model for her. The coldest weather I have used this jacket as mid layer so far was in Dec 2024 where I had to ride for 5-6 hours in damp and soggy conditions with temperature around 3 degrees having a mesh jacket and Boreal midlayer. Though not entirely cold proof but Boreal did held up well in that case also.
One minor observation with the fit but it could be due to my taller build that the jacket appears a little bit short in length however it doesn't create any problem whatsoever functionally.
