Retro classic design

The design of the Fuel is a call back to the golden age of motorcycling, featuring elements from the mid-20th century. They complement the aesthetic of that age and are a statement of style, a connection to the history of motorcycling, and an essential accessory for riders who appreciate the timeless allure of classic motorcycles.

All leather construction

The Fuel is almost entirely constructed from premium goat leather. This is the quintessential material that has been used in motorcycle gloves due to its durability and timeless appeal. The patina that develops on leather gloves over time adds character, making each pair of gloves a reflection of the your journey.

Excellent Ventilation & Breathability

The perforated leather used on the back of the hand as well as the palm allows air flow and helps keep you comfortable over the ride.

Touch screen friendly

The Fuel comes with special conductive panels on the index & thumb finger tips of both hands, allowing usage of mobile devices. This comes in handy when you are navigating the urban jungle, or if you need to call anyone - without having to remove your gloves!

Superior Grip and tactile feedback

The Fuel has ergonomically placed silicone accents on the palms of the gloves to provide excellent grip and control while riding. This helps you ride with greater precision and confidence.

Optimum comfort & fit

The fingers on the Fuel are pre-curved to give you proper fit and comfort, right from the first time you put them on. The stretch panels on the fingers give that added dexterity needed to operate the controls while on the motorcycle.

Knuckle protection

The leather covered EVA padding provides abrasion & impact protection for the Fuel gloves while keeping you comfortable.

Palm protection

A secondary quilted leather layer with EVA padding provides slide protection on the palm.

Specification

Material

Crafted from premium full-grain goat leather, the Fuel glove delivers a durable, supple feel that improves with age. Perforated panels on the palm and back enhance breathability for warm urban rides. A quilted leather overlay on the palm adds grip, character, and abrasion resistance - without compromising on retro styling.

Protection

Designed for city use, the Fuel features leather-covered TPR knuckle protectors with EVA foam backing for everyday impact absorption. The reinforced palm panel with EVA padding offers basic slide protection for low-speed spills. It’s the perfect blend of heritage aesthetics and functional safety for urban riders.

Comfort and Fit

Pre-curved fingers and stretch panels across the knuckles give the Fuel a naturally broken-in fit. Touchscreen tips on the index and thumb make it easy to use your phone on the go. Lightweight and flexible, it stays comfortable through long commutes without losing its old-school charm.

How to Measure Glove Size

Step 1 – Measure Your Hand
Grab a tailor’s measuring tape and take two quick measurements:
Circumference – Wrap the tape around the widest part of your palm. Lightly close your hand before noting the number.
Length – Measure from the tip of your middle finger to the base of your palm (where your wrist starts).

Step 2 – Check the Size Chart
Match your measurements with the size chart to find the right fit.
If your length and circumference fall in different size categories, go with the larger one.
If you're in between sizes, try both and pick the one that feels better on the bike.
A good fit means better control, less fatigue, and max protection—don’t guess it.

How to Check Glove Fitment

STEP 1 - Confirm that the gloves are a comfortable fit.
They should not be excessively tight on all fingers (including the thumb) & knuckles.
To check this, try the gloves on and form a fist several times and verify if:
1. Adequate room for all fingers (specially thumb) to move and operate controls comfortably.
2. Check the fitment on both hands since your left and right hand sizes do vary.
Ensure that the fit on first try is not so tight as to cause discomfort and/or restrict movement

STEP 2 - Ensure the knuckle protectors are properly positioned.
The way to check this is:
1. Roll your hand into a tight fist and hold the position for 5-10 minutes. This position should be easy to hold without causing any discomfort or causing any stress points.
2. Ensure that the edge of the knuckle protector is not over the knuckle when the fist is formed."

Care and Storage

Cleaning Your Gloves
What you’ll need:
Microfiber cloth, soft-bristled brush, absorbent towel, pH-neutral leather cleaner, leather conditioner, lukewarm water
Steps:
Mix a bit of leather cleaner with lukewarm water.
Dip the microfiber cloth, wring it slightly, and gently wipe the gloves clean.
Mud splatters? Let them dry first, then brush them off before wiping.
Work from wrist to fingertips, getting between each finger.
Rinse your cloth often so you’re not rubbing dirt back in.
Flip and repeat on the other side.
Important:
No hot water.
No harsh cleaners, fuel, fabric softener, or scrubbing.
No machines or pressure washers.
Don’t wring them.

Drying Wet Gloves
Gently press with an absorbent towel—do this even if it’s just rainwater.
Let them dry naturally, indoors, away from sunlight and heat.
Never use a dryer, radiator, or direct sunlight.
While drying, wear them occasionally to keep the shape.

Conditioning the Leather
Once dry, condition them. This keeps the leather flexible, breathable, and crack-free.
Use a good leather conditioner - nothing that clogs the pores.
Rub it in evenly and let it soak.
Wipe off any extra conditioner.

Storing Your Gloves
Only store when completely dry.
Use a breathable cotton bag with a few packs of silica gel - skip plastic.
Keep them in a cool, ventilated place.
Take care of them, and they’ll take care of you on every ride.

Things to Remember
  1. The Fuel gloves are designed for retro-style daily riding, not for aggressive sport or touring use.
  2. The all-leather build offers long-term durability but requires regular care to maintain softness and flexibility.
  3. As leather naturally breaks in, initial snugness is normal - ensure there's enough room to form a fist comfortably.
  4. Avoid contact between the Velcro and perforated leather to prevent premature wear. Store gloves in a cool, dry place after use.

Retro Goodness

These gloves are of really good quality. The goat leather is soft and pliable and becomes like 2nd skin over extended usage. Safety wise it's decent and not a performance glove like the other gloves from viaterra. Having said that, they still offer adequate protection. These work great for commuting and for short breakfast rides. I'm a regular customer of ViaTerra and as always they never disappoint.
