Specification

Material

Designed for cold, wet rides, the Tundra v3 uses abrasion-resistant goatskin leather on the palm for a reliable grip and natural flexibility. The outer shell combines heavy-duty 4-way stretch fabric with SuperFabric reinforcement on the palm and pinky edge for added durability. Inside, 3M Thinsulate insulation provides warmth without bulk, while the DryTerra waterproof membrane keeps your hands dry in rain, slush, or snow. Silicone grip zones and touchscreen-compatible fingertips round out the utility.

Protection

Winter shouldn’t mean compromising on safety. Tundra v3 packs in hard polymer knuckle protectors backed with EVA foam for impact absorption, SuperFabric slide panels to resist abrasion, and extended reinforcement on the pinky edge for added crash protection. The dual-layered control fingers minimise long-term wear from repetitive lever use - making these ideal for high-mileage winter touring. CE-certified and designed for real-world riding conditions.

Comfort and Fit

Built to stay comfortable in tough weather, the Tundra v3 features stretch panels across the fingers and back of hand for easy mobility - even when layered over inner liners. The pre-curved fit eliminates bunching, while the full-gauntlet cuff and dual Velcro closures give you a snug, secure fit whether worn under or over a riding jacket. Memory foam lining and smart insulation placement ensure you get warmth and flexibility in all the right places - without any stiffness.

How to Measure Glove Size

Step 1 – Measure Your Hand
Grab a tailor’s measuring tape and take two quick measurements:
Circumference – Wrap the tape around the widest part of your palm. Lightly close your hand before noting the number.
Length – Measure from the tip of your middle finger to the base of your palm (where your wrist starts).

Step 2 – Check the Size Chart
Match your measurements with the size chart to find the right fit.
If your length and circumference fall in different size categories, go with the larger one.
If you're in between sizes, try both and pick the one that feels better on the bike.
A good fit means better control, less fatigue, and max protection—don’t guess it.

How to Check Glove Fitment

STEP 1 - Confirm that the gloves are a comfortable fit.
They should not be excessively tight on all fingers (including the thumb) & knuckles.
To check this, try the gloves on and form a fist several times and verify if:
1. Adequate room for all fingers (specially thumb) to move and operate controls comfortably.
2. Check the fitment on both hands since your left and right hand sizes do vary.
Ensure that the fit on first try is not so tight as to cause discomfort and/or restrict movement

STEP 2 - Ensure the knuckle protectors are properly positioned.
The way to check this is:
1. Roll your hand into a tight fist and hold the position for 5-10 minutes. This position should be easy to hold without causing any discomfort or causing any stress points.
2. Ensure that the edge of the knuckle protector is not over the knuckle when the fist is formed."

Care and Storage

Cleaning Your Gloves
What you’ll need:
Microfiber cloth, soft-bristled brush, absorbent towel, pH-neutral leather cleaner, leather conditioner, lukewarm water
Steps:
Mix a bit of leather cleaner with lukewarm water.
Dip the microfiber cloth, wring it slightly, and gently wipe the gloves clean.
Mud splatters? Let them dry first, then brush them off before wiping.
Work from wrist to fingertips, getting between each finger.
Rinse your cloth often so you’re not rubbing dirt back in.
Flip and repeat on the other side.
Important:
No hot water.
No harsh cleaners, fuel, fabric softener, or scrubbing.
No machines or pressure washers.
Don’t wring them.

Drying Wet Gloves
Gently press with an absorbent towel—do this even if it’s just rainwater.
Let them dry naturally, indoors, away from sunlight and heat.
Never use a dryer, radiator, or direct sunlight.
While drying, wear them occasionally to keep the shape.

Conditioning the Leather
Once dry, condition them. This keeps the leather flexible, breathable, and crack-free.
Use a good leather conditioner - nothing that clogs the pores.
Rub it in evenly and let it soak.
Wipe off any extra

Storing Your Gloves
Only store when completely dry.
Use a breathable cotton bag - skip plastic.
Keep them in a cool, ventilated place.
Take care of them, and they’ll take care of you on every ride.

Things to Remember
  1. The Tundra v3 is designed for winter and wet-weather rides - it's not ideal for hot or humid conditions.
  2. Always wear the gloves under your jacket cuff to prevent water seepage and maintain waterproof effectiveness.
  3. The insulation may feel snug initially - ensure you can operate levers and controls without restriction.
  4. Always dry the gloves thoroughly after wet use - storing them damp can cause mildew and long-term material damage.

Good product

I purchased these gloves before my trip and later realized I had bought the wrong size. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time to replace them, so I had to manage with what I had. I used them in foggy conditions for more than four hours. They were fully waterproof, and the temperature was around 1–2°C.

Overall, the gloves were comfortable to use. The fingers do get chilly faster, which is normal in such conditions. Warming the inside of the gloves near the exhaust for a short time helps, after which you can comfortably continue riding for another 2–3 hours before the fingers start getting cold again.

The gloves definitely need a break-in period of around 400–500 km before they start feeling truly comfortable. That said, they do a great job of protecting against cold winter air—worth going for if you ride in winter.

Over 3,500 km: An RE rider’s Verdict - When the Ride Gets Serious, So Does the Gear

I purchased the Viaterra V3 Tundra gloves and used them on a long ride from Hyderabad to Ujjain to Delhi between 25 December and 28 December. Initially, they felt slightly difficult to manage. The hand contact on the accelerator was reduced, and I had to stretch a bit to reach the clutch lever. That said, the build quality stood out from the very first day.

During the ride, we encountered extreme cold, around 2 to 3 degrees in some stretches near Nanded and on the return towards Hyderabad, along with strong winds and even a brief spell of rain. In those conditions, the gloves were integral to both safety and comfort. They performed exactly as expected and lived up to their name. Four of us were riding, all using the same gloves, and every one of us had a very positive experience.

These gloves are not ideal as an everyday city pair. They can feel slightly cumbersome to put on and remove for short rides. However, for any ride beyond 50 to 75 kilometers, I can personally vouch for their comfort, protection, and reliability. For riders who prioritise safety and long-distance comfort, this is an excellent choice. The pricing is very reasonable, especially considering the quality. I also own a pair of Alpinestars gloves, and in my view, these Made-in-India gloves are far more economical and perform just as well, if not better, than many imported or premium brands.

It is worth noting that after the first day, my knuckles and fingers felt a bit sore. From the second day onwards, however, my wrist and throttle coordination improved significantly. Despite reduced direct contact, reflexes adapted well, and there was no strain even after completing a total of 3,581 kilometers.

Overall, this is a product I would strongly recommend to serious riders. You are unlikely to regret the purchase. On the contrary, you will probably end up appreciating Viaterra for delivering a well-designed, dependable riding glove.
