Since I already had the claw with me, i decided to try out the waterproof liner for it. And it was worth it.
Tried it on my monsoon ride where we had some very heavy rain spells.
But thankfully, the liner worked as it should and all my luggage and clothes was saved from getting wet.
Let me start off by appreciating the support team of Viaterra, specifically Ajinkya. He went out of his way to have a Claw waterproof liner shipped to me in time for the ride. Even though I placed the order at the Nth moment.
Now coming to the liner, just one word - AMAZING. I have tested it before the ride because the weather i'm expecting is anything and everything that can put moisture into my luggage and so far the liner has kept my stuff super dry.
Not a bit of moisture entered the luggage even though i've kept the claw in heavy rain over night. Rode the bike thru trains in heavy rain too.
Only point to note is if you have an old model CLAW (mine was purchased in 2014), the liner will be a bit bigger in size and you will see some wrinkles but thats fine.
the product itself is not a retrofit for my old non waterproof claw bag but in the days we live in where brands force us to consume more, this initiative of repairing upto the OEM spec and smallest of the components being available is highly appreciated. Will definitely recommend this brand and choose the same in the future. Yes high cost but trust me I’ve ridden with the luggage- over loaded and underloaded in every terrain and climatic conditions. This is by far the best!
recently purchased the rain liner for my claw bag, and received one without the closure buckle. That's quite disappointing actually 😞 The mistake I made was I didn't check the product immediately upon receiving it as I was out of town.
The quality of the material is top notch.
I am a fan of Viaterra products basically however this was something unexpected.

About the closure buckle — the liner for the Claw does not come with a roll-top buckle of its own, because the roll-top buckle is part of the bag, not the liner. The liner is meant to be inserted into the Claw and closed using the bag’s roll-top system.
Also, only the 100% Waterproof Claw is designed to work with the waterproof liner and has the roll-top + buckle setup. If you have the Universal Claw (which does not have a roll-top closure), the liner will not attach to the bag, and you won’t be able to roll and buckle it the way it works on the waterproof version.
