Designed for women
The Ellis has been designed keeping the women riders in focus. The colorways have been selected for being stylish yet classy. The jacket also incorporates stretch panels in the bust area on the external shell as well as in the internal lining. The zippered flare panels on the sides can be used to give more ease at the hip area.
The Lightest Jacket with L2 Protection
The Ellis jacket incorporates Sas-Tec Level 2 armor, which is known for its high level of impact protection. Despite this enhanced protection, these armor inserts have been engineered to be exceptionally lightweight. This is crucial for motorcycle gear, as heavy armor can cause discomfort and fatigue during extended rides. By using lighter Sas-Tec Level 2 armors and the special mesh-fabric blend, the jacket aims to reduce the overall weight on the rider.
Comfort & Ventilation during long rides
The Ellis riding jacket incorporates our CrossFlowTech paradigm and uses cleverly positioned mesh panels in key areas of the body to optimize airflow, ensuring maximum ventilation in these hot spots during your ride. Additionally, it utilizes highly ventilated Sas-Tec level 2 armors, which permit ample air circulation. The pocket construction and placement on the Ellis are also meticulously designed to promote unrestricted airflow.
Cordura on Impact zones
Experience unrivaled protection with Elliis riding jacket, equipped with Cordura Nylon 6,6 on impact zones. This advanced fabric guarantees outstanding abrasion and tear resistance, ensuring your maximum safety while on the tarmac. Moreover, its UV resistant coating adds an extra layer of defense against UV degradation, making Ellis a reliable companion for all your adventures.
Level 2 Armours for superior protection
The Ellis is designed to provide unmatched safety beyond L2 standards, all while prioritizing your comfort. At its core lies the Sas-Tec Level 2 armours, employing specially developed materials that retain their soft and flexible characteristics under normal conditions. When faced with impact, these armours swiftly harden, effectively absorbing and dispersing energy, ensuring you stay protected during any adventure.
ViaTerra's proprietary FocusFitTM
While Level 2 armour is critical, having the armour in the right position is the most important factor as only then will the armour offer optimum safety during a crash. The exoskeleton of the Ellis is designed to sit close to the body in riding position and stay in place without needing multiple adjustments.
Ergonomics designed for riding position
The Ellis riding jacket is ingeniously engineered for your convenience, taking into consideration the riding posture for a seamless fit. The stretch panels on the back and on the sleeves offer superlative comfort in the riding position. Whether you embark on short trips or long journeys, the ergonomic design guarantees comfort and minimizes fatigue throughout your ride.
Easy access front pockets
The design of these pockets ensures that riders can quickly and effortlessly reach into them. The front pockets on the Ellis give easy access to your cash or credit cards, facilitating swift and effortless fuel stops - an everyday necessity for riders. Fuel stops are a common necessity for riders, and they can be a bit cumbersome if the rider has to dismount, remove their gloves or gear, and then search for their wallet or payment card. With the front pockets of the Ellis jacket, riders can simply reach into the pockets to access their payment methods swiftly. This not only saves time but also ensures a more efficient and hassle-free experience
Enhanced visibility with well placed reflectives
The Ellis incorporates reflectives positioned for maximum visibility in low-light conditions. Notably, the placement of these reflectives is also carefully considered to maintain an appealing appearance during day rides, catering to both safety and style needs.
Original YKK™ for extra durability and smooth operation on all zips
The Ellis riding jacket uses the world class YKK zippers & pullers throughout. The use of YKK zippers and pullers throughout the Ellis riding jacket underscores its commitment to quality and performance. These components ensure smooth, reliable operation, durability, and weather resistance, all of which are crucial for the comfort and safety of motorcyclists. Furthermore, the inclusion of YKK components adds to the overall value and trustworthiness of the jacket, making it an appealing choice for riders who demand top-notch gear.
Simple to use pant connector
The Ellis jacket's simple-to-use pant connector system is a practical and versatile feature that enhances the safety, comfort, and convenience of motorcycle riding. It allows riders to connect the jacket to a variety of pants, including Augusta denims, ensuring a secure fit and protection while maintaining a stylish and functional riding ensemble.
PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS
Things to keep in mind to ensure the measurements are taken correctly - It will be helpful to have a family member or a friend take the measurements - Please use flexible tape only, like a tailor’s tape - All the measurements must be in the same units, whether cm or inches - You should preferably be wearing base layers while taking measurements, and avoid anything bulky
STEP 1 -
Measure using a tailor's tape There are two key measurements that you need to take into consideration for figuring out your jacket size.
A) Chest - Wrap the tape measure around the widest part of the chest and do not inhale while taking the measurement. Tape measure over your chest should be comfortable i.e. not too tight or loose. Keep your arms loose on the sides, and breathe in normally.
B) Waist - Measure the circumference of your waist over the belly button. Keep the tape parallel to the ground, not too loose or too tight. C) Hips - Measure the circumference of your hips over the widest part. Keep the tape parallel to the ground, not too loose or too tight.
STEP 2 -
Find your jacket size by checking measurements against the size chart provided - If both the measurements do not fall in one particular size - use the larger of the two measures to choose the jacket size. - If the two measurements are on the border line between two sizes, choose the one that offers a preferred fit i.e. sporty fit (lower size) or comfort fit (higher size) depending on your preference.
Remember, each brand has its own body size charts, so do check the chart before you select the size. Click here to watch a video explaining these steps
How to check if the armour is in the right position and how to make adjustments to ensure the armours stay in place while on the motorcycle
If you are trying it on at the store, wear it for 5-10 min to get comfortable in it. Keep in mind that the Ellis is designed to work best in the riding posture with the arms forward. So other movements could feel restrictive.
STEP 1 -
Confirm that the armours are in the correct position The jacket fit should be such that the armours are in the anatomically correct position. Since we are all unique, this could mean that the elbow armour might be slightly off in some cases depending on length of your arms.
STEP 2 -
Ensure the armours are properly positioned. - In case the jacket fit is correct but the elbow armour is slightly off, use the cinching mechanism to adjust the elbow armour and bring it closer to your body. - To do so, first make sure the ladderlock is not on the same line as the webbing. Pull the ladderlock slightly away from the body, and simply pull it away from the loop to tighten or towards the loop to loosen. You also have cinch straps on the hips for adjustment. Even the best of protective armour is of no use if it is not in the right place. The exoskeleton of the Ellis Women's Riding Jacket is designed to sit close to the body to ensure that the armour stays in position without needing constant adjustment.
The placement of armour in your riding jacket is just as important as the type of armour used. We deisgned the Ellis Jacket carefully to ensure that the SAS-TEC CE Level 2 armour is placed at (and stays in) the correct position when you're riding your motorcycle.
The Ellis offers superior impact protection and abrasion resistance despite being an extremely light and well-ventilated riding jacket. We achieved this by using a combination of a special blend of mesh and fabric in the construction of the jacket, as well as by using premium SAS-TEC CE Level 2 protectors for the elbows, shoulder and back. Try one on today, and you will immediately understand what a huge difference this makes to the comfort of the rider.
The Ellis is designed to allow maximum ventialtion in all key areas as determined by the body heat map.
We even made sure that the inner lining of our jacket pockets are made of mesh so that it does not inhibit the flow of air when you're on the move.
