PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS

Each brand has its own unique sizing, so we strongly suggest comparing your measurements with our sizing chart to arrive at the suitable size. We have given both the body measurements as well as the garment measurements for each size for your easy reference.

  • If you intend to wear the rainwear for regular non-riding use (over everyday clothes), please measure your body & compare the same with our sizing chart.
  • If you intend to wear the rainwear over your riding gear, we recommend measuring yourself with the riding gear on & compare the measurements with our sizing chart.

Please ensure there is an additional ease of at least 6-10 cm, i.e. the rainwear allows you adequate space & is not fitting tight. You can check this by wearing the rainwear and stretching your arms out in the riding position to confirm there is no noticeable pulling at the shoulders and the torso area. Please check the ease against your intended use case i.e. over regular clothes or over a riding jacket as tight fitting rainwear could lead to faster wear and tear. Please refer to the section on "How to measure size for rainwear?" for more information.

Some things to remember while using your rain gear -

  • Smoothening the zipper flaps to avoid folds helps.
  • To avoid accumulation of water on the motorcycle seat (at the crotch area) during continuous rain, standing up intermittently helps.
  • For comfort, the collar on the rain jacket is not designed to be very tight. To prevent water getting in from this area, tucking in the collar properly under the helmet or alternatively using the hood under the helmet helps.
  • Make sure to choose a rain jacket with a good fit to ensure maximum coverage and protection. A tight fit can be restrictive and uncomfortable, while a loose fit can allow water to seep in.
  • Keep the rain jacket clean and well-maintained. Cleaning, drying and storing them properly after each use can help prolong their lifespan and effectiveness.

How to keep your rainwear clean?

  • For dirt and stains, wipe clean with a damp cloth and lukewarm water (DO NOT USE HOT WATER)
  • DO NOT allow your rainwear to come in contact with solvents (do not use fabric softener!), fuel, or cleaning agents.
  • DO NOT use any kind of CHEMICAL or ALCOHOL-BASED product.
  • Do not place your rainwear near, or come in contact with a direct heat source
  • Dry the rainwear on a hanger away from direct sunlight where there is good ventilation.
  • Zippers need to be cleaned and lubricated regularly - you can use Vaseline or candle wax

How to store your rainwear?

  • Make sure your rainwear is completely dry before you store it.
  • Do not store wet or in a non-ventilated area as it allows mildew to grow on the fabric causing discoloration and damage.
  • Avoid folding or creasing the fabric when storing the rain wear, as this can cause permanent creases and weaken the coating. Instead, hang the rain wear on a hanger or fold it neatly and lay it flat.
  • Regularly check the rain wear for any signs of mildew or mold, and clean it immediately if necessary.

Absolutely unreliable product

I have used this product for 3 to 4 times in previous rainy season and then after 9 months when I tried to use this product in this rainy season the inner layer of the upper part is just coming of like a cheap paint. When when I checked those portion the water is sleeping like it is made up of cotton like material. I am feeling absolutely disgusted cause I have paid a hefty amount for this cheap quality product.

Hi Aritra,

Thank you for reaching out to us about your rainwear. We sincerely apologize for the frustration you’ve experienced with the product. It’s understandably disappointing when an item does not meet your expectations, especially after you've made an investment. From your description, it appears that the inner layer may have deteriorated due to improper storage conditions.

To help prolong the life of your rainwear, it's essential to store it correctly. Always ensure that the rainwear is completely dry before putting it away, as moisture can lead to mildew and mold growth. Additionally, avoid storing it in damp or non-ventilated areas, as this can cause further damage over time. We recommend hanging your rainwear on a hanger or laying it flat, as folding it can create permanent creases and weaken the material. Regularly checking your rainwear for any signs of mildew and addressing any issues immediately can also help maintain its quality.

While we have a strict no-return and exchange policy for hygiene reasons, we hope these care tips will assist you in the future. If you have any further questions or require assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Regards,
ViaTerra

P300 - Looks well made ...

Am yet to use it in heavy rain, but t
It was adequate in the kind of light to heavy drizzle i ride in. I do not ride in heavy rain.
Long sleeves help keep water ingress low, but the short body is a slight problem as one would ideally like more overlap with the rain pants.
The flap over lapping the front zipper is a good touch adding to the water resistance.
The real test will be when i use it to ride in Vietnam soon.

More coming up 😊

NOT WATERPROOF AT ALL

Just returned from a recent ride from Pune to Dapoli and Back, on the return journey, encountered rains and was wet inside in no time. Viaterra should NOT have given the 2 Zippers on the chest as air vents. The zippers are NOT waterproof even when closed and water enters from there and you start getting wet. Its ok for city use.

Hi Jeetendra,

We’re sorry to hear about your experience with the jacket during your ride. The design of the jacket, including the chest zippers, is meant to balance ventilation and weather protection, but we understand that in heavy rain, water ingress may occur, as the zippers cannot be fully sealed. We are continuously working on improving the waterproofing and overall performance of our products, and your feedback is valuable to help us make those improvements. Please reach out to us for further assistance at contactus@viaterragear.com

Cuff should have elastic closers not Velcro. Sleeves are too long. Otherwise good rain liner.
