HOLESHOT – Riding Gloves

4.86 out of 5

Safety is paramount even during your daily commute. Keeping this in mind we have designed the Holeshot to offer comfort along with protection even during your day-to-day commute. Holeshot offers high airflow through the 3D air mesh panel on the back of your hand and between the fingers yet provides maximum protection by incorporating perforated goatskin leather on the palm. In addition, we have integrated KNOX SPS sliders as well on the palm to prevent Scaphoid injuries caused by the grab effect when the palm comes in contact with the road in case of a fall.

How to check fitment

how to check fitment Ensure the knuckle protectors are properly positioned. The way to check this is:

1. Roll your hand into a tight fist and hold the position for 5-10 minutes. This position should be easy to hold without causing any discomfort or causing any stress points.

2. Ensure that the edge of the knuckle protector is not over the knuckle when the fist is formed.

how to check glove fitmentConfirm that the gloves are a comfortable fit. They should not be excessively tight on all fingers (including the thumb) & knuckles. When you try the gloves on, form a fist several times to ensure the below:

1. Adequate room for all fingers (specially thumb) to move and operate controls comfortably.

2. Check the fitment on both hands since your left and right hand sizes do vary.

While leather gloves do take some time to break in, ensure that the fit on first try is not so tight as to cause discomfort and/or restrict movement

Size Chart

Things to remember

  • Putting on and taking off may be slightly difficult, because the wrist area is narrowed down for safety reasons. This is done to prevent the gloves from coming off your hands during a crash and to offer a snug fit.
  • If you have never used gloves with a pinky bridge you may find it odd or uncomfortable. Give it a few days of riding and you will get used to it. Remember, any protective gear is relatively uncomfortable to wear compared to riding without any protection.
  • You may find the Knox SPS on the palm to be uncomfortable in the first try. But just like any protective gear, over a period of time you will get used to it so you do not even notice it. These devices are incorporated in the gloves is to ensure you are well protected when you most need it.
  • In our research, we found that the palm size and the finger length are not in the same proportion for everyone (that makes each of us unique in the truest sense!). In such cases, primary area of fitment should always be the palm area, even if you are to be left with some extra room near your fingertips.
  • We have used high density TPU to maximise protection and longevity. While we have added an additional foam layer underneath the TPU, they may feel a bit too hard at the beginning. Thinner and more flexible knuckle protectors are not very effective during a crash and do not last long either.

Care instructions

Our gloves use full-grain goat leather that is naturally water-resistant. This means that the gloves do not get ruined if they get wet in rains. However, when leather gets wet, the oils get stripped from the leather – this  will stiffen the leather and eventually cause it to crack. Think of it as your skin after taking a bath – you need to moisturize to replace the natural oils in your skin removed by the water. So, what matters for your gloves is what you do after it gets wet. Here is a step by step process to keep your glove well cared for and last longer.

  • If your gloves get wet, dry the gloves by pressing softly with an absorbent towel.
  • If there are stains, clean the gloves by hand with a pH neutral leather cleaner using a damp cloth or a soft-bristled brush. DO NOT USE HOT WATER
  • DO NOT allow your gloves to come in contact with solvents (do not use fabric softener!), fuel, or cleaning agents. DO NOT use any kind of CHEMICAL or ALCOHOL-BASED product.
  • Do not use a washing machine or high-pressure devices to clean the gloves, as high temperatures and pressure will damage the leather.
  • Do not place your gloves near, or let your gloves get into contact with a direct heat source – this will harden the leather and lead to damage. Also dry the gloves indoors away from direct sunlight where there is good ventilation.
  • Just before the gloves are completely dry, put the gloves on and shape them to your hand while still damp. Remove the gloves gently, trying to retain this shape in the gloves and allow it to continue drying.
  • After the gloves are completely dry, apply a good quality leather conditioner. This is very important. Properly treated and conditioned (oiled) leather will breathe and the internal microfibers will move freely in the leather. Use a good quality leather conditioner that will allow the leather to breathe. Apply conditioner generously and rub it into the leather. Allow the conditioner to soak into the gloves and reapply (you can do this in the sun). Wipe off any excess conditioner and make sure the gloves are not slick on the motorcycle controls.
  • Make sure that your gloves are completely dry before you store them. When gloves are stored wet or in a non-ventilated area, this may cause deformations and ruin your gloves, not to mention this allows mildew to grow on the leather causing discoloration and damage.

This is my first ever gloves I’m purchasing, so I do alot of research on deciding the material used, all kinds of safety measures, quality of stitching, fit and finish.

I was little skeptical on the size which i need to buy, since this is my first gloves. But seems to be the gloves came to be the right fit for me.

It is stiff at the palm at the beginning, which will wear out and fit perfectly to my hands in mean time. Goatskin leather is the best quality leather for the gloves. It’s very breathable, comfortable to wear, and it works well when using my mobile with the gloves.

It’s the newest product in the market and the quality is top notch!

Great product ViaTerra, looking forward for more products in future. 🙂

Both the gloves that are available from Viaterra are really good. I would say best in the market at this price range. I have searched a lot for good quality gloves in 5k range and the only one I though of buying was Rynox Apex Evo. But I would say the full gauntlet available from Viaterra is superior to Apex Evo in material quality and craftsmanship.

    Thank You Viattera!!

This is my second set of gloves from Viaterra. I have used Viaterra Grid full gaunlet gloves for 1.5 months and over 2000 kms of riding, and I was very impressed with the design and comfort.

I have aspida gloves for city commute but they are old now and I thought the 3D mesh should be an interesting feature to experience on the holeshot gloves, hence I purchased them.

My thoughts on it Holeshot gloves –

    1. The 3D mesh works well. Despite having leather, the presence of 3D mesh offsets most of the sweating that may occur.

    2. These are the only daily commute/city gloves in the entire Indian market that have the following features –

    a. best in class knox scaphoid bone protectors.

    b. touch screen inserts on both Left and Right hand glove (all city commute gloves, in this price range, have touch screen inserts on only left hand(Royal Enfield gloves). Some gloves, like Aspida brand, do not even have offer it. Such a shame.

    c. nice blend of soft, plush leather and mesh. Very well executed design and stitching.

    Few pointers for buyers :

    1. How to decide on the size of gloves –

Measure both your hands as shown in Viaterra chart. Most of the times, one hand turns out to be bigger than the other. Take the bigger measurement for choosing the gloves.

If your hand size according to Viaterra chart is “M”, order “L” sized gloves.

In most cases, one size up is always comfortable. Especially if you are buying gloves for the first time or you are new to wearing gloves. If you feel the size is too big and the gloves come out easily, then you can exchange for smaller size.

My advice would be to get the bigger size first and then go for exchange if the fit is not ok.

    2. Please keep in mind that the gloves can feel a little tight if you are used to riding without gloves or with gloves of other material. But gloves will get comfortable after first few 100 kilometers. Do a proper “break-in” and these gloves will last a really long time.

    3. How to do a proper break-in for the gloves

Do not go on long rides with new gloves immediately after purchase. New gloves need a proper “break-in”, just like new engine. Wear the gloves for 1~2 hours every day for at least a month. If you cannot ride for 1~2 hours, you can wear the gloves at home and move your fingers, close your first etc.

    4. Lastly, follow the leather care instructions given by Viaterra on this webpage. Leather gloves will last really long if cared well.

    Bottom-line :

Best city gloves that your hard earned money can buy you, in India. Simply go for it! You will love it.

Hoping to see Viaterra venture into making hard parts like tail racks and top boxes.

Got the Holeshot gloves primarily for daily commuting and short breakfast rides and they didn’t disappoint me one bit. I really like their design, fit, and colour combination. The build quality is supreme too. So far, I’ve used them for over 600kms and they have been perfect.

The only issue that I had was with the mesh on top of the index and middle finger. It started to come off bit by bit as it comes in contact with the hard part of the velcro whenever I take the gloves off. It isn’t a big issue and definitely not something to worry about too much and shouldn’t be a deal-breaker. And I am pretty sure, ViaTerra Team will be sorting it out in their future batches.

Overall, I’m highly satisfied with the Holeshot gloves and I totally recommend them.
Now, I’m impatiently waiting for ViaTerra’s riding jacket!

Finally found a good city riding gloves at an affordable price. The leather and the mesh combination on the gloves really goes well in our tropical environment , ie : prevents from sweating inside the gloves… The knox armor on the palms adds an additional safety net . The reflectors on the gloves are ideally placed making it safe for night owl riders. I would recommend it to be used atleast for 100 kms before going on a long trip (to get used to the gloves ), this will allow the gloves to take the shape of your hand …
Overall a great glove for city and highway riding .
Thanks to viaterra team for bringing such great riding gloves at an affordable price range .

I purchased Holeshot after going through a lot of reviews and comparisons. In the price range , it’s definitely one of the best gloves. However, the protection seemed inadequate for my use and hence, I’ve decided to upgrade to Viaterra Grid.
If you’re looking for something only for the city ride, then this will be a good buy. However, Grid is just amazing and if possible, do go for the Grid.

Very comfortable, superb for summer rides, has good ventilation. The palm fabric gives good grip on handle and is well padded for abrasion resistance. The best feature is the knuckle protection which looks firm and solid. Wore it for 12 hours on a stretch without any odor, compression problem.

  9. 5 out of 5

These gloves are too good. Scientifically crafted keeping all the aspects in mind.
    1. Has silicone grip in Palm for better grip.
    2. Knox protection on palms to keep it safe in case of collision
    3. Extra leather padding to the little finger.
    4. Added mesh and perforated leather to keep flow of air.
    5. 3m reflector on fingers for higher visibility to opposite vehicles
    6. Index finger tip and thumb tip is provided with leather to use mobile touch screens while riding
So these are the major points which makes these gloves a value for money . And finishing off the product is very nice compared to other brands at this price point.

Refer size chart to buy the gloves and it fits perfect. Feels premium.

A Big yes for these pair to give value for our money.

Quick Shout out to Ajinkya for giving me a call to recheck the glove measurements (the measurement of the fingers was the trick too)
I bought this glove after its reviews on the Wroom insta page. These gloves are super lightweight when worn and when you hold the handlebars, the bike feels super light.
Probably the only downside (probably only my point of view) I think is that the Knox sliders will keep your palm raised when you hold the handlebars. That is something to get used to.
Overall a super good investment, the air ventilation is killer, the fitting is just awesome (more like wearing your skin)

    Ritam Chakrabarty

These gloves are simply too good. Not only are they super comfortable but also, once broken in, provide enough handlebar grip response. The Knox sps pads are well thought out. The tactile patches on the thumb and forefinger aid in navigating the phone. A thoughtful feature is the clip to fasten the pair of gloves together – extremely useful for forgetful people like me.

A special shoutout to Ajinkya for superlative customer support. I’d ordered these in unlock phase 1 and they delivered it within 4-5days. I’d made an error in measurement and had to ship the gloves back. The Viaterra team promptly sent me the right size gloves and provided me a discount coupon for my next purchase. I redeemed the coupon to buy the Fly magnetic tank bag (will review in the apt section).

The product and the customer service has turned me into a Viaterra fan and advocate! Keep up the good job guys!

*Review of The ViaTerra Summer Holeshot Gloves*

I am using semi Gauntlet gloves
in the city since I have developed a habit of using gloves even for commutes.

I see many people not wearing gloves for city commutes but on rides they will suit up fully. I am not accusing all. But if u are like that consider a kind advice from another rider. Chances of accidents in the city are more right.

Saying this I continue to my experience on gloves.

First, the Key Features I really liked:

    (1) – Palm Sliders (Knox Certified)
Knox Certified is very valuable guys. It’s a london based company that has done a lot of R&D in this safety gears dept.

This specific slider’s function is to reduce the ‘grab’ effect on the 1st impact and thus convert
the *vertical movement to horizontal ” sliding” movement*
This feature could save riders from major injuries

    (2) – Knuckle Protectors
Made of TPU material for better impact protection. In the
knuckles area and the back region of our hand

    (3) – Synthetic Rubber layer for better throttle control and grip
    on the handlebars

    (4) – Touch Sensitive Leather area for easy access to mobile phones without removing the glove for any small touch activities in google maps, etc

    (5) Mesh area for more air circulation and ventilation

    User Experience:
I am using this glove more than 2 months and I have to say I am really happy with the purchase.

Initially when I started to use the glove there was little bit pain (reddening) of palm skin directly above the palm sliders.

But the thing is we ourselves will adjust accordingly by instinct on the handlebars on our own just like that. So after a week of usage I wasn’t facing that issues.

But ofcourse the leather will take time to adjust to the exact shape of our hand. So it’s like we have to properly “break in” the gloves. All these are mentioned in the tag labels that comes with glove.

Another small feature I like is we can connect the 2 gloves together with plastic clips. So it’s very easy to keep them together with the jacket on rides.

Overall it’s good for city and highways as well in my own experience with good ventilation in humid places like Chennai. So it’s comfortable to wear over a long period of time.

So enough with the pros!! :p

    * Not much honestly, but I felt that the touch sensitivity could have been better compared to other gloves I am using (Komine)

    * Maybe a soft padding layer of suitable material could have added directly above the palm sliders to minimise the minor pains I got during initial days and maybe a bit more comfort on the on long run.

That’s it I can think now. If others I can find I will always update the ViaTerra customer team who are so easy to reach and they LISTEN and IMPLEMENT to proper customer

I received the product yesterday. I have to say I am blown away. These are the best short gloves I have used. I have the Joe Rocket Super Moto short gloves and a Joe Rocket GPX gauntlet gloves, which I bought when I was in the US from in 2018. Both cost more than the Viaterra holeshot, especially the GPX. When comparing the holeshots and super moto (both are identical mesh/leather hybrid with the super moto costing approx. Rs.3500) I have to say the Holeshots are hands down the better of the two. Be it the quality of materials, the fit, the build quality and not to forget the amount of protection they offer. The KNOX sliders are the icing on the cake. I especially liked the extra bit of coverage on the lateral side of the wrist. It is very easy to use on a smartphone, especially to type something. For this price point the holeshots are truly bang for buck. Thes are good for temperatures 15 C and above and you can still use them if it gets cold by using a liner underneath that would probably set you back by INR 400-500.

  15. 4 out of 5

Very good build quality, gives a nice premium feel. The stitch finish, the knuckle protector and the leather all together offer good protection. However, I find the sizing a bit disappointing. Word of advice, if you have a thin and long hand structure, do not go for L size. Rather try a different brand.

Been using these gloves for almost a year now and just loving them. It took about a month for gloves to fit perfectly and since then they have been very comfortable. Mesh provides decent ventilation. Build quality is Top Notch! as you would expect from any Viaterra product.
A special mention to the customer support from Vaiterra. Everything from help in sizing to delivery was a wonderful experience.

These gloves are super perfect for my hand and it saved my wrist and my fingers because a truck went over my hand and the pads saved my wrist and just got minor pain but i was lucky enough that these gloves did their job and i will always suggest people to go for VIATERRA GLOVES . Thank you

Amazing leather gloves with a lot of ventilation for city riding in hot summers. The knox sps protectors add to the safety quotient overall. Would recommend going up a size as the fingers can be a bit short for some. Great service and product overall!

Wonderful pair of gloves. Made of goat skin. Utmost comfort on wearing.

Extremely happy with the whole process of ordering and receiving a product from viaterra.
Their constant working towards including and updating products on a regular basis based on customer feedback and follow through with the customer throughout the ordering process, and concentrating on minute details on features of the products to make everyday use easy are the things what makes them stand out.

Got this premium glove last year Dec 2020. Initially i was bit unhappy as i felt some pain in my palm after using it for some time, however i learnt from fellow riders that it requires a break in period for the leather to adjust.

Which in my case was true as i used on regular basis there was no pain at all. Now after a year the glove is in perfect shape even after i used it in different conditions including rain. Usually after using a leather glove in rain it used to become soggy not in this case if you just wipe it with dry cloth and keep it under fan means it comes back to its shape which i liked about it.

In summer as well you will have decent amount of ventilation so you can use it city as well.

My only CON with this glove is the touch sensitive panel which i my case didn’t work as expected , so every time i had to remove my glove in order to operate the map (Zoom in or Out), mind i didn’t had screen protector on my Samsung Note 8 as with other phones.

Hope Viaterra fix this in upcoming models.

Liked it. But I think u should choose a size higher than actual per site size. Cos if not, it’s difficult to fold the fingers comfortably. That’s the only issue am facing..Other than, it’s a good choice.

Just got my Holeshot Riding Gloves – Flame Orange. Amazing fit and perfect color combinations available – mine matched great with my KTM Orange. Great experience from start where Viaterra team reached out to me to ensure the sizing is correct before dispatching to receiving the product. Very good material quality and Knox sliders. Touch screen works well and the gloves do not feel heavy on the hands. Very comfortable and safe gloves. Looks good too.. 🙂

This is my second semi gauntlet gloves and I must say this is the best semi gauntlet gloves available in the market ….. The usability is just awesome .. you can use it very easily in the city rides which is very important too according to ke and taking it on and taking it off is just so easy and the most important thing is the adjustable belt …. That is the deal breaker … U cant understand until and unless u use it and above all the safety standards are the best in class …. There are such a huge colour options available for this gloves u can choose any of it according to ur taste ….
